As a Digital News Executive Producer in Los Angeles, I used to work long days, try to be everything to everyone, and burn myself out to the point of booking doctor's appointments to figure out my health issues.

After hitting rock bottom, I did a complete overhaul of my habits and how I set boundaries.

I used to work 10 to 15 hours beyond my scheduled 40 hours each week, trying to keep up.

The problem was it started to negatively affect my personal life. When I got in my car to drive home, I had barely any energy to leave the parking lot. When I got home, I crashed on the sofa and vented to Stephen about all my work problems, which put a strain on our relationship.

I knew it wasn't sustainable.

So I started going to therapy and learned about how much I was sacrificing my own needs to get things done at work and be everything for everyone. Sound familiar?
